  • The Post Office is not asking for a bailout. The USPS is NOT funded by tax dollars- ZERO TAX DOLLARS. The problem is they are required by Congress- NOT THE UNIONS- to prefund future retirees health care 75 years in advance.

  • You are correct- as a matter of fact, not only have these employees not been hired yet, they haven't even been born! They are required to fund these benefits 75 years in advance. A burden that no other agency or corporation has to bear.

  • No they don't. FedEx and UPS use the USPS to deliver some of their mail. FedEx and UPS do not deliver everywhere the USPS does.
